The city of Montreal is cancelling hundreds of parking tickets handed out last month to motorists who parked next to bike paths on Boyer, de la Roche and Marquette Streets in the boroughs of Rosemont and Villeray.
The tickets were issued November 16th and cite the owners of the vehicles for parking more than 15 centimetres from the curb.
Residents in the area say the parking signs are confusing and it appears municipal prosecutors agree.
In a statement released Wednesday, the city says prosecutors concluded the tickets would be invalidated in court.
If you received one of the $53 tickets, you still need to enter a not guilty plea on the back of the ticket.
The city says you should get a notice in the mail in the coming weeks that the fine has been withdrawn.
