Imperial Caviar & Seafood and VIP Caviar Club brand Trout Roe products sold across Quebec have been recalled from the marketplace because they may permit the growth of a harmful bacteria.
50 g and 100 g packages of the Imperial Caviar & Seafood Trout Roe as well as 50 g packages of the VIP Caviar Club Trout Roe fall under the recall due to a possible presence of Clostridium botulinum.
Contaminated products may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include facial paralysis, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision and difficulty speaking. Recalled products should not be consumed and should either be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses linked to these products.
