Two Quebec employees of the Cavalia equestrian show, arrested in China over a week ago for allegedly smoking pot, are out of jail and the country.
A spokesman for the Montreal-based equestrian show confirmed Sunday evening that the pair were released and have returned to Canada.
They were arrested on July 14 for allegedly smoking marijuana, which has been an illegal narcotic in China for decades.
The names of the arrested horse show employees have not been released.
The Montreal-based equestrian show has been performing in China since 2015.
Cavalia announced in 2016 that they were allying with the Chinese firm Gold-Finance in a partnership to set up a show for debut in early 2018.
