The Mounties say the case of a Toronto man who was arrested at the border after allegedly being in possession of 25 handguns has been put over until January 10th.
Thirty-six-year-old Thanh Viet Pham was arrested on December 23rd at the Canada-U-S border crossing near Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec.
The R-C-M-P allege Pham illegally crossed the border with a bag containing 24 weapons of various calibres and another gun on his person.
Police say at least 10 of the prohibited weapons were loaded.
Pham appeared in court in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu today on several charges related to illegally importing or exporting firearms and will remain in custody until his next court date.
The Mounties say Pham was known to police for weapons and drug offences and had an outstanding warrant against him from Toronto.
