Did Montreal police injure a 51-year old man on the West Island?
Quebec’s police watchdog is investigating following after an altercation during a Montreal police intervention in Pierrefonds late Wednesday night.
A preliminary investigation by the Bureau of Independent Investigations suggests police responded to a domestic violence
According to the bureau, the man resisted arrest and officers tried to hit him on his left arm with a baton while attempting to handcuff him, but missed and hit his left eyebrow.
Officers also used pepper spray.
The man was taken to hospital and might suffer permanent damage.
Police spoke to the man’s family who were waiting outside when they arrived at the scene.
