High winds against an old building in Hochelaga sent bricks raining down from the sky early Friday morning, smashing onto the street and sidewalk below.
Hundreds of smashed bricks lay fallen, sheared off the side of a three story walk up on Charlemagne at the corner of Ontario.
Resident Caroline says she would like the city to inspect other old brick buildings in the area.
"I mean it's really dangerous, it seems the batiment was really damaged because otherwise the bricks wouldn't have fallen," she says. "I mean they should check more on other houses near because it's kind of the same age everything here."
No one was walking along the street at the time, which was soon fenced and taped off by the city to keep car and foot traffic out of the way.
Crews arrived around 8:30am to begin repairs on the building, home to Le Trefle tavern.
