A 14-year-old boy has been accused by a fellow student of sexually assaulting them at a South Shore high school.
A student at Heritage Regional High School in St. Hubert came forward about an alleged assault at the school in February, according to Longueuil police.
Longueuil police are also confirming it is investigating similar allegations from two other students.
The teen turned himself in to authorities at a local police station. He was arrested and released on a promise to appear in court later this spring.
He is expected to be charged with sexual assault when he is arraigned.
As a condition of his release, the boy must keep away from the school and therefore can no longer attend Heritage Regional High School.
Parents of children attending the school tell CBC Montreal, which first reported the allegations, that school officials never informed them about the allegations.
Riverside School Board Chair Dan Lamoureux tells the public broadcaster students can receive complementary support and counselling, while advising concerned parents to contact the school or directly to the board.
