Residents of Chateauguay are being advised to boil their drinking water for at least a minute before consuming it — until further notice.
The city says it found unacceptable levels of coliform bacteria in the water during routine tests, and is putting the boil-water advisory in place as a precautionary measure.
There's no hint as to when the order might be lifted. The city says it's working closely with the province's environmental authorities.
