The Beaconsfield arena is off limits until May 23 after tests came back positive for legionella contamination.
The city's website states the condenser and refrigeration has been temporarily turned off and no maintenance will be done on the ice.
Legionella contamination could lead to legionnaires' disease which is a bacterium often spread through cooling and heating units.
An outbreak of legionnaires' disease in the Laurentiens in 2015 resulted in 2 deaths and caused 16 people to fall ill.
Health officials believe a local arena was the source of that outbreak.
