A late-night incident involving several men on the Plateau has left two people in hospital.
Montreal police say that they dispatched officers to Mount Royal and Berri shortly after 1:00 this morning after receiving reports of an altercation between two groups of men. When they arrived, they found two men with upper body injuries with what police described as an "edged weapon".
A 29 year old man is in hospital in critical condition, but police say his life is not threatened. Another 32 year old male victim is in stable condition.
Witnesses have told police that several suspects fled west on Mount Royal Avenue. Police said they have not been located yet, but they are working on identifying the aggressors by interviewing eyewitnesses. No streets have been closed as a result of the investigation.
