Laval police are searching for clues and hoping surveillance footage will help find the people responsible for setting a playground on fire on Saturday.
Spokesperson Franco Di Genova told CTV Montreal a call at about 2:00 A.M. concerning a fire at Saint-Ernest Park in the Duvernay district.
Flames reached about five meters high, destroying a play structure and burning a pine tree behind it.
Nearby Saint-Paul elementary school is equipped with security cameras, which police are combing through in hopes of tracking down the culprit or culprits.
The park is regularly used by children attending the daycare at Saint-Paul elementary, and by the many children in the neighbourhood.
