A man in his twenties is in critical condition after he was stabbed inside a downtown store early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred just after 2:00 on de Maisonneuve between St-Andre and St-Hubert streets. Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant says an argument between two men escalated to the point where one man stabbed the other in the upper body.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and has not yet been arrested. The victim was found conscious and was rushed to hospital.
Police investigators are at the scene trying to determine what led to the stabbing. They will be looking at video surveillance in the hopes of getting a better description of the suspect.
A police perimeter has been established on de Maisonneuve between St-Andre and St-Hubert.
