There was a rare meeting in Quebec City today between the Premier and a group representing dozens of English organizations in the province.
The Quebec Community Group Network hasn't had a formal meeting with a Quebec Premier since former PQ Premier Bernard Landry was in power more than a decade ago.
Tuesday's meeting lasted for about an hour and included 3 anglophone MNA's, Geoff Kelley, Kathleen Weil and David Birnbaum
The meeting was a chance for the group to raise concerns including protection of English institutions and dealing with reforms to health and social services that are affecting the English community.
"We put forward our sense that the English speaking community needs to be acknowledged and we got a positive response. Yes, there's certainly a historic feeling in the community that it hasn't got a positive response to all of its issues and problems, but today we got a good reaction." says QCGN vice president Geoffrey Chambers
