The victim of a fatal shooting in Laval on Saturday had alleged ties to the Montreal Mafia, according to police.
The man in his 60s, who has not been officially identified, was gunned down near the corner of Arthur-Mignault and Antoine-Forestier Sts. around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Several reports have identified the victim as 65-year-old Vincenzo Spagnolo, the former right-hand man to one-time Montreal Mafia kingpin Vito Rizzuto.
The Sûreté du Québec have taken over the case and have launched an investigation into the shooting.
