Air Transat, the airline and travel company founded by current premier François Legault in the 1980s, says it is in preliminary talks concerning the possible sale of the company.
In a statement released Tuesday, the company announced it was in "preliminary discussions with more than one party concerning a potential sale", though it adds those discussions are in the preliminary stages, that no deals have been concluded, and that there's not even a guarantee that one will ever be finalized.
The statement notes that it remains business as usual at the airline, and that the announcement has no bearing Air Transat's customers or employees.
The announcement came hours before the company opened its annual meeting in Montreal.
