Good news, if you have plans to go downtown on the weekend.
If you've driven on the new Highway 136, you probably noticed the large jungle of twisted metal and contcrete where part of the old Ville-Marie east was.
It was closed last weekend, and will be on future weekends, to be demolished.
Transport Quebec says they were only supposed to have torn down three complete and three partial spans, for just about 100 metres of old expressway.
"But at the end of the weekend, we were able to dismantle 6 complete spans, which is a total of 219 metres," said Transport Quebec spokeswoman Sarah Bensadoun.
She says since they made so much progress, they're not going to have to close down the 136 this weekend.
