The case of a couple of youths charged in the alleged gang rape of a 13-year-old girl in Montreal North that was also filmed and circulated on social media was back in court today.
The 13-year-old girl charged in the case pleaded guilty to breaching conditions - she was at her school by herself just hours after she was released on bail last month when she was supposed to be accompanied by her parents whenever she left the house. She will have to serve 25 hours of community service.
One of her bail conditions was modified - her parents had to take her to and from school but now she can go in the morning by herself.
The girl allegedly filmed the assault that happened in March. The video was shared on WhatsApp and Snapchat and seen by the victim's brother. He told his parents who reported it to police.
Two of the girl's co-accused also had their bail conditions slightly changed: one 15-year-old boy was expelled and being home schooled but is now allowed to go back to the school for exams.
The other 15-year-old boy no longer has to be accompanied by his parents to school.
The defence said they have to go over new evidence from the crown so the case is back in court next month.
