The family of a woman who died in a cycling accident last week wants heavy trucks banned on small city streets.
The 41-year-old mother was crossing the intersection on Bélanger at 6th Avenue in Rosemont-Petite-Patrie when the accident occured.
The son of Meryem Anoun says he thinks big trucks should stay on streets where there are lots of other vehicles.
"If it's impossible to not let them go in the city, then at least have some safety regulations," said Badr Jaidi.
To prevent accidents like this from happening in the future, Jaidi is asking that people pay more attention when they're driving or biking.
"Losing your attention can be very deadly. It can happen to anyone," said Jaidi.
His family hasn't made any official requests to the city yet.
However, Jaidi does want his message to be heard.
He hopes someone who is in the position to listen and do something on the issue can make the next move towards new regulations.
It's believed the driver didn't see the woman, that she was in his blind spot.
