After being hit by a vehicle in the Plateau last night, an 85-year-old man suffered serious head injuries and Parc Avenue was closed for hours.
Montreal police say that the collision took place at around 8:00 last night, when the man was in the middle of the Parc Avenue near its intersection with Labadie. The driver who hit the man is 19 years old and he is said to be co-operating with police, who added that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
After being taken to hospital, Montreal police said the man's condition improved from critical. His life is no longer in danger, as of 1:00am.
Parc Avenue, a major artery in the Plateau Mont-Royal, was closed between Laurier and Fairmount from shortly after the crash until 12:15 this morning.
