A cyclist is in critical condition in hospital after a collision with a truck in Montreal-North.
According to Montreal police, the crash took place aroudn 5:45 pm yesterday evening on Avenue de Bruxelles. Eyewitnesses told police that the cyclist did not make a mandatory stop. The truck that hit the 44 year old cyclist had been travelling across the street, headed west on Monselet Street.
"Everything suggests the cyclist did not make his mandatory stop," said Andrée-Anne Picard from Montreal police.
The truck was a rental moving van, driven by a 33 year old woman. She has been treated for traumatic shock in hospital.
Police collision investigators are determining more details of the accident. They've set up a safety perimeter in the area while they conduct their investigation.
