A 21-year-old man appeared in a Laval courtroom on Wednesday in connection with a fatal crash nearly a year ago in the Pont-Viau district.
Simon Lefebvre was arrested earlier in the day, and was brought up on charges of dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and driving while intoxicated.
Police say in the early morning hours of May 4, 2017, Lefebvre was speeding on Des Laurentides Blvd., travelling south. When he reached Grenon St., police say he hit a car travelling eastbound, and then, hit another car coming out of a parking lot.
A passenger in Lefebvre's car was killed, and three other people suffered serious injuries.
Lefebvre is now free, on a number of conditions — he can't drive, or consume alcohol.
